Efficient Water Filtration Solution for Chemical Plant!

DATE:2025-02-21 Number of views: 1 Source:dongwenhui

In a recent project for a chemical plant, we were tasked with solving high turbidity issues in surface and pond water that could not meet production and ultrafiltration reverse osmosis requirements. To address this, we installed Multimedia Filters to reduce turbidity and provide clean water for production and ultrafiltration processes, replacing the original municipal water supply.

Project Details

  • Total Treatment Capacity: 300m³/h

  • Filter Media: Quartz Sand/Activated Carbon

  • Influent Turbidity: 30NTU / 10NTU

  • Effluent Turbidity: 3NTU / INTSU

  • Influent Chloride Concentration: 500mg/L

  • Effluent Chloride Concentration: 112mg/L

  • Influent Pressure: ≥ 0.3MPA

  • Backwash Water Consumption: ≤ 3%

  • Backwash Intensity: 4-15L/s·m2

  • Backwash Expansion Rate: 40-50%

  • Backwash Duration: 5-7 minutes

Design Features

  • Product: Multimedia Filters

  • Equipment Configuration: 4 units in parallel, with each unit backwashing sequentially

  • Control System: Fully automated with PLC control

  • Inlet/Outlet Piping: DN250

  • Backwash Air and Water Supply: DN50

How It Works

The system uses both timed and differential pressure controls. When either condition is met, it triggers automatic backwashing. The backwash duration and timing are adjustable, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

The plant now benefits from high-quality, low-turbidity water that supports efficient production processes and reverse osmosis systems—paving the way for smoother operations and reduced reliance on municipal water sources.

Key Benefits

  • Cost-effective solution for water treatment

  • Sustainable use of available water resources

  • Reliable filtration for industrial applications

  • Automated system for seamless operation
