Industrial Water Treatment Revitalized

DATE:2025-03-31 Number of views: 1 Source:dongwenhui

At LEFILTER, we recently completed a monumental water treatment overhaul for a leading steel plant’s auxiliary workshop—a project that underscores our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and industrial excellence. Spanning 30 days of intensive labor, this $2.8 million project involved servicing 16 self-cleaning filters, 6 slant plate settlers, 2 chemical oil removers, and an array of advanced filtration systems, including shallow sand filters and dual cyclone separators.

The Challenge

Steel production demands staggering volumes of water—over 15,000 m³ daily at this facility. Over time, critical components like filter screens, slant plates, and quartz sand filters became clogged with suspended solids, iron oxide debris, and corrosion byproducts. Equipment failures were imminent, risking production halts and non-compliance with environmental discharge standards.

Our Solutions
1️
Self-Cleaning Filters: Replaced 16 damaged filter meshes and motors, addressing axis misalignment and clogging. New electromagnetic (drain valves) now ensure consistent flow rates of 80–120 m³/h.
2️
Slant Plate Settlers: Removed 15 tons of iron-laced sludge, restored 450 m² of corrosion-prone surfaces with epoxy coating, and upgraded drain systems to prevent blockages.
3️
Chemical Oil Removers: Replaced degraded packing materials and hydraulic lifting mechanisms, reducing oil residue by 92%.

Impact

Post-maintenance, water recycling efficiency surged by 35%, saving the plant 4.2 million liters annually. The rigorous testing phase confirmed zero leaks, with all systems operating at 108% of design capacity.

This project exemplifies how precision engineering transforms operational bottlenecks into opportunities for growth.
