Restoring Steel Plant Vitality

DATE:2025-03-31 Number of views: 1 Source:dongwenhui

When a major steel manufacturer faced declining water quality threatening production, LEFILTER was tasked with a mission-critical challenge: revitalize their aging water treatment infrastructure in just 30 days. This comprehensive overhaul targeted 6 slant plate settlers, 2 chemical oil removers, and 4,000+ filtration components, showcasing our expertise in industrial maintenance.

The Scope

·         Slant Plate Settlers: These units, designed to separate solids from water via gravity, had suffered severe corrosion and sludge buildup. Our team manually removed 20+ tons of iron-rich sludge, replaced 1,200 m² of deformed filter cloth, and applied anti-corrosion coatings to extend service life by 5 years.

·         Chemical Oil Removers: Faulty packing materials caused oil carryover, violating discharge limits. We retrofitted high-density polyethylene (HDPE) packing and upgraded lifting devices, slashing oil residuals to <5 ppm.

·         Automation Upgrades: Installed IoT-enabled sensors across 16 self-cleaning filters for real-time monitoring of flow rates and pressure drops.

Sustainability Wins

·         Reduced water waste by 12,000 m³/month.

·         Achieved 99.2% suspended solids removal efficiency.

·         Earned the client a LEED Silver Certification for water stewardship.

This project wasn’t just repair work—it was a blueprint for resilient industrial ecosystems.
